AGS Is A School Where...
- Technology isn’t in a lab and where students use iPods to “tweet” Virginia Woolf, record foreign language assignments, and measure the heights of flagpoles and the slopes of stairs.
- Global studies takes girls to Ecuador, Belize, Kenya, Spain, and London. Girls visit sister schools in Australia and host girls from around the globe.
- Girls experience a sixth- through twelfth-grade integrated curriculum to understand self, the mandate of serving in the community, and the possibilities and passions born from effecting change in the world.
- Education is student-focused and nurturing, yet demanding and rigorous.
- Internships are a critical part of a girl’s education. She not only understands the needs of the community but gains valuable professional and life skills.
- Over 80% of girls participate in team sports, which leads to higher grades, better attendance, and greater self-esteem.

An AGS education is based on a highly purposeful vision of what a graduate should be.
Strengths of Character
AGS students graduate with the ability to lead and work with others. They learn to balance their independence and willingness to take risks with compassion, honesty, and integrity. More than anything else, students need strengths of character to grow to become responsible individuals as well as the family and community members the world needs.
Knowledge
The nature of what today’s students need to know and understand as they graduate is changing at an ever-increasing rate. AGS provides girls with the foundation they will need and equips students with the ability to apply that knowledge to new situations.
Skills
Strong communication, clear thinking, creative and confident problem solving—AGS graduates have the skills that allow them to apply their knowledge and engage the strengths of others. They also have the ability to respond to new ideas with wonder, humor, and flexibility.
