College Counseling

As a college preparatory school, Atlanta Girls' School is dedicated to assisting its students with their college planning. The AGS course of study is designed to meet the admission requirements of colleges and universities. Our co-curricular program provides diverse opportunities for developing the interests, talents, and skills not readily addressed within the academic classroom.

Colleges and universities consistently report that the single most important component of any student's college preparation is her course of study. At AGS students are guided each year to take the most rigorous classes they can take, while achieving their very best grade in each class. Our graduation requirements are structured to mirror the courses colleges hope to see a student take in each year of upper school. Honors courses are offered to challenge those ready to delve more deeply into a particular academic subject's conceptual understanding. Each course is structured to enable each girl to meet her strongest academic achievement. As students progress through their upper school academic careers, more options emerge for potential honors and advanced placement courses.
